GIFTED AND TALENTED

Within this area students will have access to opportunities and resources to enable them to further their passion and enthusiasm for a particular area. The site is designed to enable young people to lead and direct their own learning with the help, support and guidance of both teachers and parents.

The DCSF define gifted and talented as:

Children and young people with one or more abilities developed to a level significantly ahead of their year group (or with the potential to develop those abilities).

The Department for Education state that:

Gifted describes learners who have the ability to excel academically in one or more subjects such as English, drama, technology.

Talented describes learners who have the ability to excel in practical skills such as sport, leadership, artistic performance, or in an area of vocational skill.
