Don’t suffer in silence. Bullying is unacceptable and will be dealt with. Every pupil has the right:
· To feel safe
· Not to be placed in danger by the behaviour of others
· Not to have his/her property damaged or taken by other pupil
· Words can be as hurtful as actions
· We must all protect others from bullying
If you are bullied:
· Be firm and clear – look the bully in the eye and tell him/her to stop
· Get away from the situation as quickly as possible
· Tell a teacher or another adult what has happened immediately
· Tell your family
· If you are scared to tell an adult on your own, ask a friend to go with you or put a note in the bully box in the medical room
· Keep on speaking up until the situation is sorted out
· Don’t blame yourself for what has happened
When you are talking about bullying with an adult, be clear about:
· What has happened to you
· How often it has happened
· Who was involved
· Who saw what was happening
· Where it happened
· What you have done about it already
