OCR LEVEL 2 NATIONAL AWARD INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

(1,2 or 4 GCSEs equivalent A*-C grade)

 

BRIEF OUTLINE

The OCR Level 2 Nationals in ICT have been developed to recognise a candidate’s skills, knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology. They have been designed to accredit a candidate’s achievements in a modern and practical way that is relevant to the workplace. They do not certificate competence on the job but are work-related qualifications which will support progression to an NVQ once a candidate is in the workplace.

 

ICT in Business covers the basic software programmes and how they can be used to support business (180 hours) and some specialist units which may include Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Creating Computer Graphics, Creating Business Presentations and Web Design.

 

COURSE CONTENT

You will study:

      - ICT in Business

      - Security of systems

      - Desktop Publishing

      - Spreadsheets

      - Networks, including the Internet

      - Web Design

 

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED

Coursework 100%

All units are centre-assessed and externally moderated by OCR. There are no timetabled examinations for this qualification; candidates may complete units at a time that suits the centre. The full award and units from this qualification are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.
