WHY STUDY ART AND DESIGN: FINE ART
Many students ask, "What is Art?" Humans have creative ability, which can be used in many ways. There are inventions that have a practical purpose and then there’s Art. Art is everything man has created that has no other purpose than to make you think and feel. This GCSE course explores the visual arts. We work hard to ensure you develop creatively and you also receive drawing tuition from one of our school link artists. We have 2 artists who visit and work with students. You will visit Leeds City Art Gallery and, in Y10 and 11 you will have the option to go on a residential trip to Venice or Barcelona. When the course is over we have an exhibition of your work at a local venue, with a buffet, to celebrate your success.
